The Tomball Kings will hold four instructional baseball camps this summer, as follows:

Camps

Choose from the camps we list below. You may attend more than one camp. We offer discounts for siblings and additional camps. Our camps are open to all players. You do not need to be homeschooled or a Kings player to participate.

Advanced Defensive Skills

Tuesdays, 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM, from June 4 through August 13, at the Premier Baseball of Texas Sports Complex. This camp is for high school and junior high (including high school prep league) players.

Beginner / Intermediate Defensive Skills

Tuesdays, 10:00 AM to 12 noon, from June 4 through August 13, at the Premier Baseball of Texas Sports Complex. This camp is for high school prep league and younger players.

Catchers Clinic

Wednesdays, 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM, from June 5 through August 14, at Farm League Park. This camp is for all ages. We strongly encourage all Kings catchers, whether current or aspiring, to participate in the catchers clinic.

Pitchers Clinic

Wednesdays, 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM, from June 5 through August 14, at Farm League Park. This camp is for all ages. We strongly encourage all Kings pitchers, whether current or aspiring, to participate in the pitchers clinic.

💡
A given player may not choose both the Catchers Clinic and the Pitchers Clinic, as we teach them at the same time and on the same field. Pitchers and catchers will work together during parts of each session.

Tuition

  • $199 for the entire summer session for the first player from each household (the "primary student"), per camp.
  • $49 for the entire summer session for each participating sibling, per camp.
  • $49 for the entire summer session for additional camps, whether attended by the primary student or sibling.

We will invoice you for the appropriate tuition amount after you register. Tuition must be paid before camp commencement.

What to wear and bring

The camps will be challenging. Plan for hot, humid weather. Wear summer workout clothes with turf shoes or rubber cleats (no metal spikes at Premier or Farm League), and a baseball cap of course. Bring plenty of water to each class (at least 64 ounces per student). Catchers must wear protective cups while catching. We strongly recommend protective cups for fielders as well. Bring your baseball gloves, of course, and catchers gear with catcher's mitt if you attend the catchers clinic.

Lead instructors

Aidan Harris

Aidan Harris will serve as lead instructor for the defensive and catching camps. This summer marks Aidan's third year with Marucci Elite, where he serves as a summer showcase coach for high school players in Texas and Louisiana. During the school year, Aidan is an undergraduate student at Texas State University, where he serves as bullpen catcher for the Bobcats baseball team. Prior to beginning his studies at Texas State, Aidan played in the Five Tool Summer Collegiate League for the Houston Warriors, where he was a starting middle infielder and also pitched. Aidan played high school baseball for the Tomball Kings, where he was a four-year starter in the infield and two-time captain.

Kevin Beirne

Kevin Beirne will serve as lead instructor for the pitchers clinic. Coach Beirne heads the Tomball Kings pitching and throwing program. He is a former Major League Pitcher from The Woodlands, Texas. Coach Beirne is currently a coach with the National Pitching Association, and an Associate Scout for the Kansas City Royals organization.

Coach Beirne played in the Major League for the Toronto Blue Jays, and the Los Angeles Dodgers before ending up in Japan, where he played four seasons under Bobby Valentine.

Late in his professional career, Kevin began working with renowned pitching coach Dr. Tom House and became involved in the research and teaching philosophies based on optimal bio-mechanics to prevent injury and increase velocity. Kevin is currently a Level 5 Certified National Pitching Association Coach in The Woodlands, and specializes in training rotational athletes utilizing the NPA’s science-based protocols.
