The Tomball Kings have released today this message from their president Caleb Fleming:

Dear Kings families,

I am writing to inform you about an opportunity to support one of our families. Xander Moody, one of our 10U baseball players, has been diagnosed with bone cancer. Over the next several months, the Moody family will make many trips to Texas Children's Hospital and other Houston-area medical facilities for treatments and tests. Providing the care that Xander needs is already creating a financial hardship on the Moody family, one that we know will grow over time. Given these needs, we are creating our #XanderStrong campaign, including a "Supporting the Moody Family" campaign for prayers and donations on GiveSendGo.

Please help us make this campaign successful for Xander and the Moody family.

Below we outline our initial campaign activities. Please review them and help in any way you can. And please follow the Xander Moody Updates page on Facebook.

If you see Xander, give him a high five and let him know you are on his team! This young man has a fight ahead of him, but by God’s grace, he will have an incredible story to share. Join me in praying for God’s will to be done and for the Great Physician to heal his body.

Soli Deo Gloria,

/s/ Caleb Fleming
Tomball Kings President

Initial campaign activities

We have started a GiveSendGo donation page ("Supporting the Moody Family") to help offset some of the expenses for Xander's treatment.

We are organizing a birthday-card deluge for Xander. Xander turns nine on April 12. Let's each of us send our warmest birthday greetings to Xander in advance of his birthday. Please address your cards to Xander at 24062 Schults Meadow Lane, Spring TX 77389.

Our 10U rosters, Red and Blue, play one another this Thursday, March 28, 2024, 8:00 PM, on Field 6 at the Rothwood Baseball Complex. We have arranged for Xander to throw out the first pitch of the game to big brother Titus and would like for all available Kings players to turn out for the game wearing their red jerseys. We will all share in a prayer together for Xander’s speediest recovery and the continued strength of his family: his father Brent Moody, mother Katie Moody, big sister Chelsea, big brother Titus, and little sister Josie.

We are asking each of our teams to create a video for Xander to help keep him in good cheer as he goes through additional testing and treatments. The high school players created theirs today, which we will be sharing with Xander shortly. We are also asking each player to place a strip of yellow bat tape above his grip, as a reminder of how much Xander means to all of us and to make him proud of our play.

Additionally, we are planning other fundraising and #XanderStrong activities, and will communicate those to you in a timely manner. We are extremely grateful to our dear friends and colleagues at the Farm League, Lynx Baseball, and Missing Element Sports for the immediate support and encouragement they have provided as we plan these additional activities. Please pray about how the Lord might lead you to help.

Finally, we are also exploring opportunities to help Xander’s siblings Chelsea, Titus, and Josie through this difficult time and will keep you posted as we develop those plans.

Thank you for considering this request for help for Xander. If you have any questions, please email support@tomballkings.org or call John Harris at 512-470-0915.
