Kings drop fall 15U championship game to Aces
The Houston Aces started fast and never let up, defeating the Kings 16-0 for the 2023 Fall 15U title in the Spring Klein Baseball League.
The undefeated Houston Aces closed out a perfect season with a 16-0 win tonight over the the Tomball Kings to take home the 2023 Fall 15U championship in the Spring Klein Baseball League.
The junior-high Kings made good contact throughout the night against solid Aces pitching and fought hard throughout the contest, but ultimately had no answers against an Aces team that dominated the fall schedule.
An exciting, 11-10 Kings win in last night's semifinal contest against the Red Sox led to their appearance in tonight's championship bout.
After starting the fall season with only one win in their first three games, the Kings found their footing. They surged to a 7-3 regular season record and were seeded second for the playoffs. Two of those regular-season losses came against the Aces, setting the stage for a revenge opportunity in tonight's championship that was ultimately frustrated.
Coach Danny Cimerhanzel led this fall's junior-high squad, assisted by Patrick Rowe and Adrian Salinas.
The 2023 Fall roster for the junior high Kings consists of:
- Taegan Blaise
- Colton Cimerhanzel
- Barrett Eads
- Will Fisher
- James Ivie
- Aiden Lacy
- William Malott
- Micah Peterson
- Hudson Rowe
- Matthew Salinas
- John Taylor
- Hudson White
With their split in the playoffs, the Kings finished 8-4 on the season.
Up next for the Kings junior high program are tryouts for the 2024 spring season. Kings junior high players will face high-school-prep-league competition this spring.
