Gidden, Wilkins celebrate six-year run together with win on Senior Night
The Tomball Kings honored four seniors following a 12–2 win over Bo Porter Academy, including Andrew Gidden and Owen Wilkins—original members of the junior high program launched six years ago.

Six academic years ago, the Tomball Kings took their first step beyond high school baseball, launching a junior high division with a team competing in the Spring Klein Baseball League.
Today, we celebrate the journey of that inaugural junior high class. Two players from that original squad—Andrew Gidden and Owen Wilkins—have remained with the program ever since. Now seniors, they are joined by fellow graduates Logan Guinn and Mike Sharp in closing out their Kings careers.
Head Coach Philip Wilkins and his wife Autumn Wilkins led a heartfelt ceremony honoring each senior for their commitment and leadership.
In their penultimate game as Kings, Gidden and Wilkins each contributed to a dominant 12–2 win over Bo Porter Academy at the Premier Baseball of Texas Sports Complex in Tomball.
- Gidden laced a base hit on the first pitch he saw, driving a hard shot over second base, while scoring a run.
- Wilkins reached base with a walk and later added a sacrifice fly, and also scored.
Meanwhile, Guinn and Sharp made strong statements of their own:
- Guinn notched a base hit, drove in two runs, and scored once.
- Sharp pitched a complete game, limiting a strong Bo Porter lineup to just three hits and two runs while adding a hit at the plate.
As the season winds down, both Gidden and Wilkins prepare to take their next steps far from home:
- Gidden departs in August for six months of training with Adventures in Missions in Lubbock, Texas, followed by a discipleship mission at a location to be determined.
- Wilkins will head to Arizona Christian University in Glendale, where he will join the football program.
The Tomball Kings are deeply grateful to each of our seniors for their contributions to a successful 2025 season and for the legacy they leave behind.
Six years ago, we could not have foreseen how far this program would come. We are especially thankful for the steady leadership and lasting example set by Andrew Gidden and Owen Wilkins throughout their junior high and high school years.
