Fall season 2022

The Tomball Kings will field fall-season 2022 baseball teams in the high school, 15U, 12U, and 10U divisions. The 8U division fields teams only in the spring season, but offers its players training programs, classes, and sandlot baseball opportunities in the fall.

The high school, 15U, and 12U divisions offer opportunities for league play in the Spring Klein Baseball League. The 10U division offers opportunities for league play in the Farm League. Please see our Programs Guide for more complete information concerning our age divisions and seasonal priorities for each division.

Eligibility

Participation on all Kings rosters for the Fall 2022 season is by invitation only, based upon coaching evaluations from our open tryouts or an individually-scheduled tryout. Maintenance of eligibility requires compliance with Tomball Kings program rules. We remain open to new players for the Fall 2022 season. To schedule a tryout, please complete our tryout registration form.

Players must be homeschooled in order to be on a Tomball Kings roster. Non-roster programs, such as classes and camps, may be open enrollment, subject to student compliance with Tomball Kings rules. Please read our eligibility guide for more complete information on eligibility for Tomball Kings game rosters.

Registration

All players who receive and accept a roster invitation for a Tomball Kings Fall 2022 team should compete our Player Information Form and any related registration requirements. The form will be published after the extension and acceptance of roster invitations.

Fall calendar

Playing baseball with the Tomball Kings is a significant time commitment that requires accommodation of schedule changes due to inclement weather. We always schedule as far in advance as possible and promptly inform players of any schedule changes.

During the fall season, we maintain a baseball schedule that is lighter than what prevails in the spring. This allows and encourages players to make time for improvements in their athleticism, whether through participation in other sports or our various training programs and classes. Players may also wish to play tournament baseball.

Players in the 10U division may have games on Sunday afternoons or evenings commencing after 1:30 PM, and the possibility of a Sunday morning playoff game at the end of the season.

Tryouts

We outline our July and August tryout schedule below and are open to new players for the Fall 2022 season. To register for a tryout, please read our tryout guide and complete our tryout registration form. All times are 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM. Practices

Only our 12U division will have a traditional practice schedule in the fall. In lieu of practices, we offer players in the high school, 15U, and 10U divisions a selection of training programs, classes, and other events to build athleticism and baseball skill. Additionally, we will offer high school players two weeks of practices and scrimmages in November, after the conclusion of league play. The schedule for these November high school practices is still to be announced.

The 12U team will practice twice weekly prior to the commencement of league play: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM, at Farm League Park. Once league play begins, we reduce the 12U practice frequency to once per week. We will release the 12U practice schedule after publication of the league schedule.

The 10U team will hold two practices in August, prior to commencement of league play. These will be from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM on Tuesday, August 23 and Thursday, August 25, at Farm League Park. The 10U team will not otherwise practice in the fall, but we encourage 10U players to take advantage of our fall training programs and classes.

Even though the 8U division does not offer league play in the fall, we do offer players in that division training programs, classes, and other activities in the fall.

Game schedules

We do not have league schedules as yet, but expect games to start (i) late August for 10U and (ii) mid-September for high school, 15U, and 12U. We expect the fall game schedule to conclude by late October for all teams. The Farm League (10U) holds games Friday evenings, Saturdays, Sunday afternoons, and Monday evenings. Spring Klein Baseball League will have evening games Mondays through Thursdays and some Saturday games.

Players in the high school, 15U, 12U, and 10U divisions will be expected to arrive one hour before game times for batting practice, additional skills work, and pre-game warm-ups.

Other activities

We offer formal training programs for all players in the fall, irrespective of whether they play fall baseball.

High school players have their own off-season training program. All players of junior high and elementary grade levels to participate in the fall session of our Baseball Performance Program.

Payment Methods

While not provided through the Kings program, players should also budget for baseball pants, belt, socks, and possibly stirrups, as set forth in the Tomball Kings uniform standards; a baseball glove; a regulation baseball bat; sliding shorts with protective cup; batting helmet of royal-blue color; turf shoes and cleats or spikes in Kings colors or black; and, batting gloves if desired. Catchers must provide their own properly-fitted gear and mit, with throat protector affixed to the mask. While not required, recommended safety equipment includes a mouthguard, heartguard, and C-Flap for the batting helmet.

High school players will need white game pants with blue piping. The Kings will coordinate orders to insure uniformity of color. 15U and younger players will wear white game pants. Game pants may be knickers or full length; for players that choose knickers, colors for stirrups or socks are set forth in the uniform standards.

10U players will need to purchase an inexpensive practice shirt or jersey of royal blue color. Team coaches will coordinate.

Note: bats and gloves in particular can be expensive items and must be a good fit for the player. Kings coaches are happy to advise on such items, prior to purchase.
