Tomball Kings 8U

The Tomball Kings 8U division serves players whose playing ages are 8U, 7U, and 6U.

For the 2023-2024 academic year, the term “playing age” means a player’s calendar age as of April 30, 2024.

We offer players in our 8U division opportunities for fall and spring baseball competition, along with year-round classes and other programs for training and skills development. In both the fall and spring seasons, our 8U teams compete in the Farm League.

Spring season for teams in our 8U division features league games as well as practices.

During the fall season, we enter 10U teams in league play but do not practice, in order to allow players to devote time to other athletic pursuits.

All players on an 8U roster receive roster invitations pursuant to a player evaluation (“tryout”) conducted by our coaches, as well as a family interview. We do not require 8U players to have any particular level of baseball skill and welcome novices.

We do not carry rosters forward from season to season. Prior to each season, we hold an open tryout that welcomes new and returning players to compete for available roster spots.

We will typically have twelve players on a game roster. All players on a game roster will bat and no player will sit more than one inning at a time.
