Tomball Kings team with Athletic Future for player development

Tomball, Texas — The Tomball Kings announced today the addition of Tomball’s Athletic Future indoor baseball training center as an athletic-performance-development partner for Kings players.

“Having a controlled, indoor training environment is an invaluable resource for our athletes,” said Kings head coach Philip Wilkins. “Athletic Future is superbly equipped and staffed to help our athletes improve their skills, speed, power, and overall fitness.”

Wilkins says he plans to utilize the Athletic Future facility both for off-season and in-season training.

“As an organization, we are looking for homeschooled baseball players committed to excellence on and off the field — scholar-athletes of high character who have ambitious goals as baseball players, up to and including playing in college or professionally,” Wilkins added. “We view Athletic Future as a prime resource as we try to help our athletes perform to their highest potential.”

Athletic Future founder Aaron Surber worked with Kings coaches to develop a trial training session for athletes who had participated in the fall training program the Kings recently concluded. “Team training is an important part of our service offering,” Surber said. “Our initial focus with the Kings is to make sure we have a training circuit that is maximally beneficial for the athletes and takes the best possible advantage of our facility.”

The Kings have just begun winter training and will be welcoming homeschooled baseball players from ages 10 to 18, including those who are new to the Kings organization, to join them as they prepare for spring baseball at the high school, junior high, or 12U level.

Homeschooled athletes wanting more information about training with the Kings this winter at Athletic Future may call John Harris at 512-470-0915 or email [email protected].
